The 3 fundamental measurements
NECK
Measure at the point where the collar normally rests.
CHEST
Measure the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.
BACK
Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
How to take measurements correctly
To achieve a comfortable fit, use a soft tape measure
- Measure your neck where the collar normally rests.
- Measure your chest at the widest point, just behind your front legs.
- Measure the back from the base of the neck to the tail line.
Useful Tips
✔ always leaves 1-2 cm of comfort
✔ Consider the volume of the hair
✔ For long-haired dogs, a larger size may be preferable
✔ If the dog is between two sizes, generally choose the larger one

The most important measurement is the chest. Consult the table by comparing your dog’s neck, chest, and back.
If your dog has a lot of fur or is between two sizes, we generally recommend the larger size to ensure greater comfort.

Measure the neck circumference at the point where the dog normally wears the collar.
The correct measurement should allow two fingers to pass between the collar and the neck.
For long-haired breeds, always consider a few additional centimeters.
The height of the Biothane strap varies depending on the size: from size 25 to size 30 the height is 1.2 cm, for size M the height is 1.5 cm, for sizes 40 and 45 it is 2 cm, and finally for sizes 50 and 55 it is 2.5 cm.
